Salt Lake City police were on the lookout Thursday for two male suspects who threatened a store clerk.
The men — one Latino, one white and both about 5-foot-8, 35-40 years old, 160 pounds and wearing dark clothing — entered the 7-Eleven store at 109 S. 300 East about 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Salt Lake City police Detective Veronica Montoya said investigators Thursday were still trying to nail down details of the incident, and if it truly was a robbery. Apparently it began when with the female clerk’s suspicions that the men had stolen some prepaid telephone cards.
When she followed them outside and confronted them, one of the men allegedly revealed he had a weapon — police would not say what kind — and made verbal threats before leaving the scene.
Police said the Latino suspect had an acne-scarred face, short hair and a tattoo on his left cheek. He was wearing a black sweat suit and black tennis shoes.
The white suspect wore a black leather jacket over a gray hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans.
