Looking for a new place to eat this weekend?

To help you out of a dining rut, or to simply present new possibilities, here are links to recent Tribune restaurant reviews, including a new Chinese barbecue place that rewards adventurous diners.

Ho Mei BBQ • A self-styled “authentic Chinese food adventure,” offering Chinese barbecue, rice rolls, clay pot and more. It’s worth stepping outside your comfort zone and exploring the diverse menu.

Black Sheep Cafe • Southwestern Native American cuisine is as fresh and innovative as ever with high-end Navajo tacos as a starting point. A drink menu filled with creative cactus pear specials makes this a can’t-miss dining experience.

Blue Pablano • Blue Pablano offers burritos, street-style tacos and high-end quesadillas to Utah County residents and Salt Lake’s Granary Row attendees.

Copper Bowl • This contemporary Indian restaurant knows how to execute traditional as well as modern dishes such as kurkure shrimp, laal maas and chicken tikka masala.

The Rest • A New York City-inspired speakeasy below Salt Lake City’s Main Street serves “mountain food” and craft cocktails with a culinary twist.

Iron Gate Winery • The Cedar City winery opened about one year ago behind the Iron Gate Bed and Breakfast, offering a tasting room and a patio, and has been well received by residents and visitors alike.

Centro Woodfired Pizzeria • Thin-crust, woodfired pizzas rivaling any in Utah are delivered in a sophisticated environment just blocks from the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City.

Avenues Proper Restaurant & Publick House • Part restaurant, part pub, part hangout — this microbrewery in Salt Lake City’s Avenues neighborhood is replete with dishes to enjoy alone or pair with a house brew.

Boulevard Bistro • A welcoming, modern atmosphere pairs nicely with thin-crust pizzas, salads, Italian-inspired entrees and gelato at this bistro on Foothill Boulevard.

R&R Barbecue • Brothers Rod and Roger Livingston give their competition-winning barbecue a permanent home in downtown Salt Lake City. The pulled pork, brisket and ribs are first rate; so are the okra and hushpuppy sides.

Jasoh! • This Ogden stalwart serves pub fare and fine dining options from its second-floor perch above historic 25th Street. The multiple menus mean the quality ingredients don’t always get the treatment they deserve.

Cucina Deli • This Avenues stalwart now offers an evening menu peppered with spicy and smoky notes, a dash of fun, and a new wine and beer menu. Try the polenta fries, lemon ricotta dumplings or the duck and seeds appetizer.

Del Mar al Lago • Hidden in a South Salt Lake business park, Del Mar al Lago Cebichera Peruana is serving up high-end Peruvian-style ceviche and seafood dishes that are worth the effort to seek out.

Ichiban Sushi • One of downtown Salt Lake City’s older Japanese restaurants shakes things up with new staff and menu. The new Izakaya menu — think Japanese pub food — offers something unique.

Papa O’s and Mama’s Plantation Restaurant • Southern-style comfort food including fried chicken, collard greens and pot roast.

Tortilla.bar • While this restaurant serves familiar items such as tacos and empanadas, it’s not your typical Mexican eatery. The focus is on creativity and interpretation. Not for everyone — but adventurous diners will like it.
