Jury selection in a five-week trial for a Pleasant Grove doctor accused of killing his wife in 2007 in order to continue an extra-marital affair will continue Wednesday.
Martin MacNeill, 57, is charged with murder, a first-degree felony, and obstructing of justice, a second-degree felony, in the death of 50-year-old Michele MacNeill. The woman was found dead in the bathtub in her Pleasant Grove home on April 11, 2007.
Jury selection began Tuesday morning, with a 102-person jury pool that reported to Provo’s 4th District Court. Court officials said jury selection was going slower than anticipated, but that it was too early to tell whether testimony — which is expected to begin Thursday — will be delayed.
Prosecutors accuse Martin MacNeill of giving his wife a deadly mixture of prescription drugs after she came home to recover from cosmetic surgery in April 2007.
