Ogden police say they will have to await results of an autopsy and forensic testing to learn why a woman apparently fell under the wheels of a passing semi-trailer rig.

Ogden police Lt. Kevin Cottrell said Wednesday that just prior to being run over, 26-year-old Mercedes Serrano was walking away from an argument on the side of the road near 750 W. 2550 South about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Though the rig was reportedly traveling slowly down the street, Serrano "for an undetermined reason fell under the wheels" as the semi passed.

Serrano did have an "extensive history of seizures," Cottrell said, but whether she suffered a seizure that put her in the rig's path was unknown.

Serrano was dead at the scene, Cottrell said.

The investigation was ongoing.
