Last month, Utah schools were graded according to criteria set by state lawmakers.

This week, the Utah State Office of Education gave its assessment of how schools are doing.

Needless to say, the two evaluations don’t always match up. Why do Utah schools face separate scoring methods? Do you think grading schools helps students?

On Wednesday at 12:15 p.m., Senate President Wayne Niederhauser, state superintendent Martell Menlove and state school board member Tami Pyfer join Trib Talk’s Jennifer Napier-Pearce to discuss school accountability metrics and what it means for students, parents and teachers in the state.
