Baroness returns to Utah after horrific bus accident
This is Baroness' first Utah show since the 2012 release of "Yellow & Green," which was immediately followed by a horrific bus accident, leaving the Georgia-based metal band unable to tour due to singer and guitar player John Baizley's extensive injuries.
In an interview with The Tribune, Baizley said that "everybody's doing great" now, and anxious to finally play music from "Yellow & Green" in front of audiences.
In March, two members left the band, and Nick Jost has joined the group on bass and Sebastian Thomson is now the drummer.
"Yellow & Green" follows in the grand tradition of the band's prior albums; Metal magazine Revolver named "Red" the best album of 2007, and "Blue" was named the 20th Greatest Metal Album in History by LA Weekly earlier this year.
Even with that track record, Baizley admitted to nervousness before playing the new album live. "Aren't we as creators feel anxious about the release," he said. "The opening night, we had white knuckles."
Opening for Baroness is Royal Thunder.
