Lyle Lovett will perform at Red Butte Garden on July 31.

• Alt-country band Drag the River performs tonight at Burt’s Tiki Lounge, 726 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Lorin Madsen, Utah County Swillers. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $10, at Smith’s Tix.

• Celtic/bluegrass fiddle/banjo band The Clumsy Lovers perform tonight at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $15, at the venue’s website.

• Lyle Lovett, who was alt-country before alt-country was cool, brings His Large Band on Saturday to the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheatre, 2250 Deer Valley Drive, Park City. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets, from $40 to $85, available at the Eccles Center website.

• Reggae bands Stick Figure and Passafire co-headline Saturday at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening act: Tatanka. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $14 on the day of the show, at Smith’s Tix.

• Politically charged hip-hop/reggae act Michael Franti & Spearhead performs Sunday at Red Butte Garden, 300 Wakara Way, University of Utah campus, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Ethan Tucker, Amanda Shaw. Show starts at 7 p.m. The show is sold out.
