An investigation into several thefts culminated in a weekend theft and drug bust at an Alpine residence.

Lone Peak Police Det. Dave Ventrano said officers served a "no knock" search warrant about 1 a.m. Sunday at the home and arrested a man and his wife after recovering items linked to the thefts in Highland and Alpine — and evidence from several dozen individual packets of heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia.

The couple — a 25-year-old man and a woman, 24 — were booked into Utah County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property, theft, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia possession and child endangerment.

The latter charge stemmed from the couple having their 10-year-old girl within their home in the vicinity of the drugs.

The girl was released to the custody of other family members.

Both suspects posted bail and were released, jail records indicated on Monday.
