An 18-year-old Harrisville man remained in critical condition Tuesday, the day after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle.

Harrisville police identified the victim as Devereaux Hallett. He was riding westbound to work shortly before 8 a.m. Monday when he was hit by a northbound car that allegedly ran a red light at North Street and Wall Avenue.

Hallett, reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown about 70 feet by the impact.

He was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden.

The driver, a 38-year-old man, was not injured in the collision.

The accident remained under investigation, awaiting results of toxicology tests.
