Egypt was on edge Tuesday following a "last-chance" ultimatum the military issued to Mohammed Morsi, giving the president and the opposition 48 hours to resolve the crisis in the country or have the army step in with its own plan. Despite Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi’s insistence he would remain in power, the country’s army chief has announced that Morsi is being replaced by the chief justice of the constitutional court. The military chief added that he has suspended the Islamist-backed constitution, that a new Cabinet will be formed and warned that the armed forces and police will deal ‘decisively’ with violence.
