Gallup names Intermountain great workplace
The Gallup Organization has again chosen Intermountain Healthcare as one of 32 companies worldwide — and the only organization in Utah — to earn the Gallup Great Workplace Award for 2013. Intermountain is a three-time winner of the award.
Sunset Towers apartment building sold
The 114-unit Sunset Towers apartment building at 40 S. 900 East in Salt Lake City has been sold. It was bought by 900 East BE. Kip Paul of Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce represented the seller, Sun Towers Associates. He said the new owners plan to build a parking structure and renovate the property.
Lululemon CEO to step down as shares sink
Lululemon, the yoga clothing company that made headlines for its see-through pants blunder, said CEO Christine Day will step down after a successor is named. Lululemon Athletica Inc. shares dropped nearly 14 percent in after-hours trading following the news.
Envelope maker files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy
Envelope maker NE Opco Inc. has filed for bankruptcy protection, saying the continued shift toward email and texting has dramatically reduced demand for its products. The company formerly known as National Envelope filed for Chapter 11 estimating debts and assets at $500 million each.
Amazon expands grocery delivery to Los Angeles
Amazon.com has expanded its grocery delivery service to Los Angeles and may add more markets. The giant online retailer has been testing Amazonfresh in Seattle for several years. Although there are a number of brands in the online grocery graveyard, companies such as Peapod, Safeway and FreshDirect are succeeding.
