Kudos for the editorial "A flood of scandal: Probes should uncover everything" (Our View, May 16).

Unfortunately, the behavior of Rep. Jason Chaffetz is only the tip of the iceberg. Tossing around inflammatory words like "impeachment," "prosecuted" and "fired" might score political points for the congressman, but they do little to reassure the public that possible government scandals will be investigated impartially and in the spirit of nonpartisan cooperation.

Sadly, this type of conduct is symptomatic of the overall mood in Washington, where scoring gotcha political points is more important than sitting down with the other side and working to resolve the pressing problems facing our nation.

All members of Congress would do well to remember the adage that what goes around, comes around.
