Cooler, breezy and occasionally wet —that’s the late-week forecast for Utah, north to south and east to west.

The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures will slide into the low- to mid-70s Friday along the Wasatch Front, a dip of some 10 degrees from Thursday’s expectations. Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms expected to debut Thursday afternoon were to continue through Friday as well as winds blew at 10-20 mph.

Southern Utahns expected winds of 20-30 mph to propel their storm clouds, while high temperatures — in the upper-80s to 90 degrees on Thursday — were to retreat into the low- to mid-80s on Friday. Rain and thunder were expected to arrive Friday afternoon in Utah’s Dixie.

The Utah Division of Air Quality gave all state air monitoring stations a “Green,” or healthy grades. Meanwhile, the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma index showed mulberry, maple and box elder pollen at “very high” levels.

Salt Lake City’s high temperature Friday was predicted to hit 74 degrees, down from Thursday’s forecast for 84; Ogden looked for 69 and 81 degrees, respectively; Provo 74 and 86; Logan 66 and 77; Wendover 63 and 76; Duchesne 77 and 82; Cedar City 70 and 80; St. George 85 and 91; and Moab 86 and 89 degrees.
