Virdene's gourmet burger house opens in Salt Lake City

Virdene's, a new gourmet burger restaurant opened recently inside the Peery Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. It offers signature burgers — such as the eponymous burger made with bleu cheese, caramelized onions, bacon and Swiss — as well as a create-your-own menu.

Customers can choose type of burger (including vegetable and bison), bun, cheese, toppings and a variety of sauces.

Virdene's also serves hamburger bowls — for those looking to cut out the carbs — as well as starters, soda floats, shakes and malts.

Signature hamburgers are $8.95 to $11.95.
