Police are looking for a male suspect in the alleged attempted kidnapping of a Salt Lake City mother shortly after she dropped her children off at school.

Police say the suspect — a 5-foot-6 Polynesian man, 18-21 years old, with a muscular build and wearing a T-shirt with green stripes and a blue baseball cap — attempted to force the 27-year-old woman into his car about 8 a.m. Monday.

The woman was walking in the 900 North block of Morton Drive (1925 West) when the attempted abduction took place, police said. When the suspect grabbed her by the arm, the woman struggled and broke free. The would-be kidnapper then sped away, police said.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
