Monday was a bad night for Mormons on “The Voice” - three of them were eliminated from the show by their coach, Adam Levine, in the knockout round.

BYU grad Amy Whitcomb finally got to appear on the show for more than 15 seconds - she was part of montages during the blind auditions and battle rounds. But it didn’t work out for her.

The Florida native/Provo resident chose to perform the classic “House of the Rising Sun,” but Levine chose Caroline Glaser (who sang “Little Talks” by Of Monsters and Men) to advance to the next round.

Idahoans Jon Peter Lewis and Ryan Hayes - the duo known as Midas Whale - performed an odd arrangement of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground.” And their Levine bounced them in favor of Amber Carrington, who performed Avril Lavigne’s “I’m With You.”

Whitcomb’s fellow BYU grad, Ryan Innes, will perform on Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice” (7 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5), matched against a fellow member of Usher’s team. And Usher will then decide whether Innes stays to perform for the “live” shows (tape-delayed in this time zone) or goes home.
