Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune Carpet and walls inside a home intended for the family of Warren Jeffs in Hildale, Friday April 26, 2013. The property was purchased by Willie Jessop who spent the day allowing former followers to see the inside of a compound they had previously not been allowed to enter.

Willie Jessop, the former spokesman for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), purchased the Hildale compound intended for Warren Jeffs in an auction on Thursday. Jessop, who has parted ways with the FLDS, paid $3.6 million for two parcels in the predominantly polygamous town. Between the two parcels, Jessop now owns a school, a row of apartments, a warehouse and three large homes. He spent Friday allowing former followers to see the inside of the compound, which they had previously not been allowed to enter.
