The suspect in a reported stabbing — and his alleged victim — both fled before police could arrive at the scene of an alleged assault on a TRAX station Friday afternoon.

Utah Transit Authority Spokesman Remi Barron said that a witness on the Old Greek Town TRAX platform at 550 W. 200 South called police after she saw one man stab another during an argument. Barron said that UTA Police arrived at the scene but the two men ran away before they arrived. The men reportedly ran off in different directions and no one was found after police searched the area.

Barron said that officers did find a discarded shirt that had what appeared to be blood on it, which they have collected as evidence. It was not apparent where the man was allegedly stabbed or how serious his injuries were. The assault was reported at about 4:40 p.m. on Friday.
