Grilla Bites— named for the grilled sandwiches the menu is built around — recently opened its third location in Salt Lake City.
The restaurant was started in Redding, Calif., by the president of an organic food company. It focuses on organic and local foods “whenever possible.” There also is a location in Snohomish, Washington.
The menu includes freshly made juices and smoothies ($4.75-$5.50); hamburgers made from vegetables, tempeh, beef or bison ($9.50, plus $1 for bison); sandwiches including grilled cheese (three types), turkey and soy bacon or thai tuna ($6.25 for a half sandwich and $9.50 average for a full).
Kids’ items include pasta, a rice bowl, chicken nuggets and a hot dog, all $4.95.
The dinner menu includes vegetarian lasagna and “meatloaf”, as well as quesadillas and nachos.
