Salty Cricket Composers Collective releases schedule for rest of 2013

The Salty Cricket Composers Collective now has dates for most of its 2013 season.

The ensemble has new home: the Utah Heritage Foundation's Ladies Literary Club, at 850 E. South Temple in Salt Lake City.

The Salty Cricket Composers Collective is a new music ensemble that performs the works of living composers who currently reside in Utah.

Season tickets are $50 (saving $30 per person).

5.10.13 | BLOWIN' IN THE WIND

7:30pm | Ladies Literary Club: 850 E South Temple, SLC

Featuring works for wind quartet -- flute, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon. Performers are members of Utah Symphony: Associate Principal Flute Lisa Byrnes, Principal Clarinet Tad Calcara, Principal Oboe Rob Stephenson, and Principal Bassoon, Lori Wike.

7:30PM @ Ladies Literary Club: 850 E South Temple, SLC

Hang on to your knickers, as Salty Cricket (SC3) throws you a concert of New Music at its freshest and wildest for the third time! Experience this evening of electronic and mixed media compositions. It will be a true mélange of modern art with works involving dance, theatre, iPhones, iPads, electric guitar, and more, all with an electronic twist.

Before a show gets a million-dolllar set, a full orchestra pit and over-priced souvineer T-shirts, it starts with dialogue, songs and movement on a bare stage. The Ladies Literary Club provides an intimate setting for this evening of new opera and musical theatre scenes. Come help these shows grow by providing the most important ingredient -- the audience.

Nov TBD | THE VIRTUOSO TRUMPET

Featuring phenomenal trumpet player Nate Botts, this evening includes works for trumpet, piano, and percussion. Nate is the first-ever winner in both the classical and Jazz categories of the International Trumpet Guild
