Park plan • An open house on the proposed Pioneer Crossing Park will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 W. 3100 South. Salt Lake County and West Valley City officials will take input on a development master plan for 25 acres near 3300 South, where the pioneers first crossed to the west side of the Jordan River.
Call for entries • The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is accepting entries until May 2 for an art and artifact exhibit showcasing Vietnam and the Vietnamese people. All visual forms of art and artifact may be submitted including folk arts, fine arts, contemporary works, photography, collectables, musical instruments and traditional dress and will be juried for acceptance in the show, which will run May 16 through June 26. To be considered, send a digital image of the submission with its dimensions and mediums noted, a one- or two-sentence description of the item and artist and your contact information to Michael Christensen at firstname.lastname@example.org. Reserve a space • Groups are invited to sign up for a booths at the Taste of Kearns event, which is being held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 6. Booth space is $25 for businesses and organizations; those fees may be waived for government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Booth space for political candidates and organizations is $100.
