Utah Chamber Artists' fourth and final concert of their season in May

Barlow Bradford will conduct the Utah Chamber Artists choir and orchestra in the fourth and final concert of their season on Monday, May 6.

The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. in Libby Gardner Concert Hall on the University of Utah campus. Utah Chamber Artists will present cellist Matthew Zalkind performing Franz Josef Haydn's Cello Concerto No.1.

Zalkind, a native of Salt Lake City, is the son of parents violist Roberta Zalkind, and trombonist Larry Zalkind, who are Utah Symphony musicians and perform frequently with the UCA Orchestra.

The choir and orchestra will be performing Gabriel Fauré's "Messe Basse." Composed in 1881 the work foreshadows the composer's more famous and beloved "Requiem."

Also on the program is another work by contemporary composer Morten Lauridsen, who is 70 this year.

If purchased before May 6 - Adults: $15, students $10; If purchased the day of the concert – Adults $17.50, students $12. A shuttle will run from the Rice-Eccles Stadium to Libby Gardner Concert Hall
