The Easter weekend was off to a spring-like start Saturday, with warm temperatures and clear skies.
The National Weather Service forecast highs in the mid 60s Saturday for Salt Lake and Tooele counties. Lows were expected to drop into the mid 40s at night, with a slight chance of rain Sunday.
Forecasters expected similar weather in Weber and Davis counties Saturday and Sunday. In Utah County, temperatures were expected to hit 70 degrees Saturday.
In St. George the weekend will already feel like late spring, with highs around 80 degrees and lows in the lower 50s.
The Utah Division of Air Quality reports that the air should be clean across the state both Saturday and Sunday.
But while Utah’s valleys are having a balmy weekend, people headed to back country regions should take extra precautions. The Utah Avalanche Center expects considerable risk of snow slides all along the Wasatch Front and in Cache County Saturday.
In Salt Lake City, forecasters predicted a high of 66 Saturday and 68 Sunday; Provo, 70 and 69, respectively; Ogden, 66 and 68; Tooele, 67 and 68; Logan, 63 and 64; Park City, 58 and 61; Wendover, 66 and 66; Duchesne, 67 and 667; St. George, 81 and 79; Cedar City, 66 and 66; Moab, 74 and 75.
