Logan police are investigating the death of a man found Friday morning in the Logan River.

A person found the 64-year-old man's body facedown in the river near 843 South and 100 West about 10:20 a.m. and called for help, according to a news release.

Police believe his death was an accident. Chief Gary Jensen declined to expand on what pointed them in that direction but said the investigation is continuing, he said.

Investigators believe the man was fishing when he died, and that his body washed down to a shallow portion of the river where it was found.

The body has been retrieved from the river, but police have not yet released the man's name.
