Scott Sommerdorf | The Salt Lake Tribune Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Mike Hart (30) defends Wichita State Shockers guard Ron Baker (31) as the Bulldogs face the Shockers in the NCAA tournament at EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday, March 23, 2013.

The Wichita State Shockers lived up to their name.

The 9-seed ousted No. 1 Gonzaga, 76-70, at EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday night.

Gonzaga trailed at the half, but the Bulldogs put together a 12-0 run to lead by 8 at one point in the second half. The Shockers, however, would claw their way back thanks to a barrage of 3-pointers. Wichita State hit seven triples in the second half — the same number the Shockers hit in the first.

Freshman guard Ron Baker had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the win.

Gonzaga 7-footer Kelly Olynyk scored a game-high 26 for the Bulldogs.
