Holladay

Scholarships available • For the third year in a row, the city of Holladay will award $500 scholarships to six high-school seniors — one boy and one girl each from Cottonwood, Olympus and Skyline high schools. Preference will be given to Holladay residents, and recipients will be chosen based on academic achievement, leadership and service to school or community. Applications are available online at http://tinyurl.com/b2zs3w9 and are due in to the city by April 15.

All Cities

Consider taking the leap • Most Utah cities have four-year mayor and city council races that come up for ballot consideration this November. Citizens interested in running for office must file a declaration of candidacy with their city recorder beginning June 3 until June 7 at 5 p.m. To qualify, candidates must be registered to vote and have resided in their cities for at least 12 months immediately before November's election, or where applicable, in their council districts for at least 60 days before Nov. 5.
