his will be a homecoming show for Utah-based Chelsea Grin — which is the term used when a victim’s face is slashed from the edges of the mouth to the ears.

(Makes you grin thinking about it, doesn’t it?)

The deathcore band, known for its three-guitar attack, formed about four years ago when lead singer Alex Koehler was attending Valley High School in South Jordan.

Last year the band played the entire Warped Tour and released a five-song EP called “Evolve.”

“This is the best lineup that’s ever happened to this band,” Koehler said of the sextet, which has seen a revolving door of members.

The band is already writing a new full-length album, which Koehler promised will “push even farther than ‘Evolve.’ ” Everyone in the band lives in Utah, and during this brief stop headlining “The Sick 2” tour, they plan to dine at La Frontera and taco carts, while cherishing the simple pleasure of sleeping in their own beds for a night.

“As a child, you always hate where you live,” Koehler said. Now, “there’s nothing like home,” and he is not being sarcastic.

Guests on the tour include Attila, Betraying The Martyrs, Within the Ruins and Buried in Verona.
