Get your food fix at home garden show

Get grocery shopping tips, watch cooking demonstrations and enter a chance to win a brick oven at The Salt Lake Tribune Home and Garden Festival.

During the three-day event this weekend, there will be several food events, including a talk on raw foods (Friday at 8 p.m.), a healthy recipe contest (Friday at 5 p.m.), a Utah blogger cupcake bake off (Saturday at 2 p.m.) and a demonstration from the Viking Cooking School (Saturday at 6 p.m.).

Gardening consultant Joy Bossi will demonstrate how to grow fresh produce and herbs on Friday at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Saturday at noon and 6:30 p.m.

And Steve and Katie Hatch, owners of Salt Lake City's Hatch Family Chocolates and stars of TLC's Little Chocolatiers, will demonstrate how to make their sweets on Saturday at 4 p.m.

When • Friday, March 8, noon to 10 p.m.; Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, March 10, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where • South Towne Expo Center, 9575 S. State Street, Sandy.

Cost • Adults $10, seniors $7, children under 12 free.
