Down by seven points with 68 seconds to play, Weber State rallied to steal an 80-78 overtime win at Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Scott Bamforth and Jordan Richardson each knocked down quick 3-pointers to start overtime, and the Wildcats never trailed again. Weber State (22-5, 16-2 Big Sky), which won its ninth consecutive game, connected on 3 of 5 3-point attempts in overtime to keep its title hopes alive.

“But our players never quit believing they could win and we were able to find a way to get it done,” WSU coach Randy Rahe said. “We had a lot of guys step up and contribute, which is what you have to have to win on the road.”

The Wildcats, down 65-58 with 1:08 to play, went on an 11-4 run to force overtime.

Davion Berry tied his career high with 25 points. Bamforth added 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Gelaun Wheelwright added 10 points, and Joel Bolomboy had nine points and seven rebounds.

The Wildcats were in control in the first half and jumped out to a quick 12-2 lead. They never trailed in the first half, leading by as many as 12 before taking a 37-29 lead.

The Lumberjacks led by seven at 63-56 with 2:27 to play after three free throws from Gabe Rogers and then led again by seven with 1:08 to play before the Wildcats came back to force overtime.
