Al Hartmann | The Salt Lake Tribune El Agave's "Molcajete for Two," served in a traditional Mexican stone bowl sizzling with chicken, steak, shrimp, pork, green onions, jalapenos with plates of rice and beans.

$30 • This dish, named after the vessel in which it is served, is sure to catch everyone’s eyes as it arrives at your table. The red-hot stone molcajete is layered with cheese, filled with tomato-chipotle sauce and topped with a bounty of grilled meats: chicken breast, pork, skirt steak, shrimp wrapped in bacon and even a couple of fresh shrimp. It’s enough for two people and comes with two side plates of rice and beans plus choice of corn or flour tortilla.

El Agave • 8745 S. 700 East, Sandy; 801-566-5898. Open Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m.
