Four pounds of methamphetamine was found during a traffic stop in Utah County on Tuesday.

After the driver was pulled over for failing to stay in his lane of travel, a Utah County Sheriff’s police service dog alerted to the odor of drugs on the outside of the vehicle, according to a probable cause statement filed in 4th District Court.

The police dog, named Rampage, then indicated the presence of drugs in the area of the car’s dashboard.

A search revealed the drugs, which were hidden in a secret compartment.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony.
