High West Distillery & Saloon, in Park City, and its chef James Dumas, are semifinalists for the 2013 James Beard Foundation Awards, according to an announcement made on Monday morning.

The Park City Distillery is among 25 establishments selected for the “Outstanding Bar Program,” while Dumas is one of 22 selected for the “Best Chef: Southwest” honor. Viet Pham and Bowman Brown, co-owners/chefs at Forage, in Salt Lake City, join Dumas in the best Southwest chef category.

The James Beard Awards are considered the nation’s top honor for professionals in the food and beverage industry. On March 18, the foundation will announce the finalists in each category; and this year’s winners will be honored on May 6 during a special event at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
