Everyone knows our air is filthy and that cars are a big factor. I propose that on red burn days, all drive-through windows be closed. No exceptions.
Fast-food chains used to have one lane; now, many have two. Banks have three or four. Even drug stores now have them.
All those cars just sit and idle, waiting their turn. The inside of these establishments is frequently far less busy.
Each person's carbon imprint would be reduced if they parked and went inside, and they would save gas. Everyone would also get some exercise. It could also reduce the number of people eating while driving, a dangerous distraction.
It is difficult for some people to get in and out of their cars; however, polluting everyone else's lungs is far worse.
