As a person who is not on either extreme end of the gun control issue, I want common sense ideas that may slow down some of the senseless homicides, including episodes like the tragedy in Newtown, Conn.
In the seven weeks since that tragedy, 1,280 people have died from homicides and gun accidents. This number does not include gun-related suicides.
That is about 31 people every day men, woman, and children more than 200 people a week. If we had a jetliner crashing every week with 200 people on it, we would be demanding and looking hard for workable solutions to prevent this from happening.
The extremes at either end are organized. It is time for reasonable people to band together and make something happen.
