Plans for the weekend: Dancing at the symphony, cellos at the rock club

• The Utah Jazz play host to the Portland Trailblazers, tonight at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Game starts at 7. Tickets available at Smith's Tix.

• The Utah Symphony teams with dancers Randi Lynn Strong and Chelsie Hightower for a "Ballroom With a Twist" concert, tonight and Saturday at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple. Shows are at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets available at ArtTix outlets.

• The Portland Cello Project, a genre-crossing act so cool even the "Portlandia" blog mentions it, performs tonight at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Opening act: Alialujah Choir. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $17, at the venue's website.

• British songbird Ellie Goulding performs Saturday at Saltair, 12408 W. Saltair Drive, Magna. Opening act: St. Lucia. Show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $30, at Smith's Tix.

Slim Cessna's Auto Club performs Sunday at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Opening act: Triggers & Slips. Show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12, at 24Tix.
