Teen tales -- of bullied kids fighting back through film, and a lovelorn girl in a scripture trivia competition -- were the big winners at the 2013 Slamdance Film Festival.
Matt Johnson's "The Dirties" was named the Grand Jury Sparky Award winner in narrative features, while Nicole Teeny's "Bible Quiz" won the same award in the documentary category.
"The Dirties" also won the Spirit of Slamdance Sparky Award, which was presented at Thursday's award ceremony by actor/director Thomas Jane.
