Trio Solisti at Libby Gardner Hall

The Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake City will present Trio Solisti with soprano Amy Burton. Pieces will include Beethoven songs and Schubert's "The Shepherd on the Rock." Visit cmsofslc.org for information.

La Taifas in Salt Lake City

The Moldavian quartet La Taifas will perform a program of world music.

Steve Lyman Quartet

Lyman will perform with pianist Russell Schmidt, the new head of the University of Utah's jazz department, Kenji Aihara on guitar and Denson Angulo on bass. The program will include Lyman's compositions as well as jazz standards.

New organ at Cosgriff School

Catholic Bishop John C. Wester will bless and commission the new 50-rank M.L. Bigelow pipe organ during a Choral Vespers service. After Vespers, Mormon Tabernacle organist Clay Christiansen will play an inaugural concert.

Lambert-Margetts Duo at S.U.U.

A Latin Celebration

As part of Utah Symphony | Utah Opera's Latin Festival, this Expositions :: Salt Lake City concert will feature music of Enrique Granados, Xavier Montsalvatge, Astor Piazzolla and Heitor Villa-Lobos. Featured performers include Demaree Clayson Brown, Heather Madsen and Clara Hurtado Lee.

Honors for Orem violinist Aubree

Orem violinist Aubree Oliverson won the Beverley Sorenson Young Artists Competition, which includes $500 and performances with the Utah Chamber Artists orchestra at UCA's Youth Festival this week. Oliverson, 14, also won the National Music Teachers Association of America Southwest Division Strings Competition, competing as Utah's representative against state champions from California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.
