A mysterious shooter is still at large after a Provo woman reported that someone fired a gun at her house, according to Provo Police.

Lt. Matthew Siufanua said the shots were fired at about 3:30 a.m. Friday in the area of 800 North and 800 West. A police officer was close enough that he could hear the shots from his patrol car. At about the time he went by to investigate, a woman called the police from her home to report that someone shot at her house. No one was injured.

Police later found bullet rounds that went through the woman’s fence, car and bathroom window. Bullet casings matching a 22-caliber also were found on the ground at the intersection of 800 N. 850 West. Siufanua said the woman did not see who fired the gun or whether the shots were fired from someone inside a vehicle or on foot.

The victim had no gang affiliation and knew no reason why her house would be targeted, Siufanua said.

“We don’t know what the connection is about, and she doesn’t either,” he said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Provo Police Department at 801-852-6210.
