Whispers in the halls
As a 17-year-old high school student, I see my fair share of people who look down at others because of whom they choose to love.
There are a few openly gay people at my school, and as I have listened to people around me, I realize how brave someone is to admit they are not heterosexual. Mostly derogatory whispers follow them as they walk through the halls.
What people do with their lives is up to them. If they are not hurting anyone or anything, people outside the situation shouldn't get involved. Trying to change who other people love shouldn't be a goal for high school students.
It shouldn't be a goal for anyone anywhere.
