Rock bands like Def Leppard are now on the playlist of Salt Lake City's KOSY-FM, which switched from soft hits (and Christmas carols) to "Rock 106.5" on Friday, Dec. 21.

Talk about rocking around the Christmas tree.

Fans of Salt Lake City radio station KOSY 106.5 FM may have been surprised this weekend when they heard Jimi Hendrix and AC/DC where they had previously heard nonstop Christmas carols since Nov. 2 (and “lite” hits the rest of the year).

As of Friday morning, the Clear Channel-owned station is going by Rock 106.5, “Utah's New Classic Rock.” The station's website touts a line-up of nationally syndicated hosts including Jim Kerr, Maria Milito, Ken Dashow and Ron “Big Rig” Michaels.
