Saratoga Springs police are asking the public's help in finding a box cutter-wielding female who attempted to rob a Beto's Mexican Food Restaurant.

Police Chief Gary Hicken said the incident occurred about 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 3 when the woman walked into the eatery at 1314 N. Redwood Road and pointed the box cutter, its razor-sharp blade extended, at an employee. The woman then grabbed the employee by the arm and forced her toward the cash register.

"You know what I want," the woman told the employee.

However, when the employee found herself on one side of the cash register and the woman on the other, out of reach, she ran into the kitchen. "She has a knife," the employee shouted.

The woman with the box cutter fled the restaurant and jumped into the back seat of a waiting vehicle that sped away.

The would-be robber is described as a thin, 5-foot tall white woman with brown hair, wearing a white hooded jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Saratoga Springs police at 801-766-6503.
