A Utah man was killed early Monday when his pickup crossed the center line and collided head-on with a semitrailer on south central Wyoming's Highway 30.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol identified the victim as Thomas W. Curry, 18, of Fort Duchesne.

Curry was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound about 2 a.m. when he crossed into the path of the westbound semi. After the crash, both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane with the semi's two trailers jack-knifed and blocking the highway completely.

The highway was closed for about four hours at the scene, seven miles east of Hanna, Wyo., in Carbon County.

The semi's driver, a 61-year-old Colorado man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in Rawlins, Wyo.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, the WHP said.
