Police have arrested two more people in connection to the murder of a Midvale man who was shot at his front door in August.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said Tuesday that Alexis Hughes, 25, and Anthony Martinez, 30, were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of homicide in the death of 31-year-old Justen LeFave.

The Tuesday arrests mark the third and fourth to come out of the case, which detectives had been pursuing since Aug. 26, when LeFave was shot after answering the door to his apartment at 6999 S. State St.

Gabriel Gurule, 35, and Amy Rowley, 35, were arrested Nov. 26 and also have been booked into jail on suspicion of homicide. No criminal charges have been filed in either case.

Police say that LeFave answered his door to find Rowley and Hughes standing on his doorstep. The women asked if a fictitious person lived at that apartment and, when LeFave answered no, Gurule allegedly stepped out from behind the two women, shot LeFave and ran away. Police allege that Martinez was the driver of a getaway vehicle.

Police allege that Gurule intended to rob LeFave and that the four suspects planned the shooting the night before. Detectives have also recovered the gun that they believed was used in the shooting, Hoyal said.
