These players were the ones called upon to deliver in key moments.

When the match was on the line, the MVPs and All-State players of the 2012 volleyball season could be counted on to go over, around or through the opposition’s block. Their teammates knew a perfect set or pass was coming to quell an opponent’s momentum or gain a much-needed point.

Consistency and skill separated these players from the field.

Class 4A MVP Maddie Day of Sky View said, “You are not going to win just on talent,” and these players proved it. They regularly demonstrated the attitude, passion and drive to lead their teams on the court. Their work in practice and matches helped set the tone for their teammates. And in the end, those countless hours in the gym garnered them the respect and admiration of the state’s coaches and players.
