Here's what's happening today in pop culture:

• Ben Affleck is Entertainment Weekly's “Entertainer of the Year,” on the strength of his directing and acting in “Argo.” At the same time, Vulture confered on him the title “Hollywood's Most Confused Dad.” [Entertainment Weekly, Vulture]

• An original poster for Fritz Lang's 1927 masterpiece “Metropolis” – one of only four known surviving copies – will be going up for auction in December, and could fetch a million dollars. [The Hollywood Reporter]

• Lindsay Lohan was arrested early this morning on an assault charge. She's accused of slapping a woman in a nightclub around 4 a.m. Insert eye-rolling look of exasperation here. [AP, via Mercury News]
