Al Hartmann | The Salt Lake Tribune Trader Joe's employees stock shelves and organize the new 12,700-square-foot store at 634 E. 400 South in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Nov. 28. It opens for business Nov. 30.

On Wednesday, Trader Joe’s invited Salt Lake Tribune reporters and a photographer inside the Salt Lake City store, which has its grand opening at 8 a.m. Friday.

New employees were still stocking shelves, making aisle signs and preparing the store for the big opening. The location at 634 E. 400 South, like other Trader Joe’s, sells specialty and organic foods and produce. More than 80 percent of what is offered is Trader Joe’s-branded food, including Trader Joe’s Organic Popcorn with Olive Oil, Trader Joe’s Honey-O’s cereal, Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s cookies and more.

The store’s hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
