Get thee to the theater
After reading critics' reviews of Salt Lake Acting Company's production of "Manning Up," I didn't know what to expect ("In 'Manning Up' Salt Lake Acting Company births a new comedy, mines cliches," Tribune, Nov. 11). I recently attended a performance of the play, and it was wonderful.
The two actors, Lanny Langston and Jesse Peery, took command of the stage and the script and with laughter and surprise led the audience through their fears and joys. The man-cave was a great set for all their gyrations as they came to grips with the changes in their lives.
This look at what men go through with the birth of a child was refreshing and delighting. Thank you, SLAC, for a great night of theater.
The play runs through Dec. 9. Go see it.
