Here’s what’s happening today in pop culture:

• Kevin Clash, the puppeteer who gave voice to Elmo, has resigned from Sesame Workshop, which in a statement said “the controversy surrounding Kevin’s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job.” Other puppeteers are expected take over the duties of performing Elmo.
