Whole Foods steps up to help Utah Food Bank

The Whole Foods Market at Trolley Square said it will be donating 5 percent of its net sales on Tuesday to the Utah Food Bank.

Every quarter, Whole Foods Market chooses a local non-profit organization as a recipient of its Community Giving Day, which involves the market donating a percentage of its sales to the selected charitable organization.

“We’re proud to partner with Utah Food Bank for our 5 percent day as it helps provide crucial resources they need to operate,” Corrinne Piazza, marketing and community partnerships director for the Whole Foods Market said in a statement.

The market anticipates the funds raised will help the Utah Food Bank alleviate transportation costs associates with delivering food to needy families across the state. It is inviting the community to shop at the store and help provide food for families in need this coming holiday season.
