Get your popcorn ready. It promises to be a long night.

Unless Obama or Romney clearly wins in Ohio. (Polls close there at 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time).

Then, the only thing that might keep us up late will be the Ben McAdams/Mark Crockett Salt Lake County Mayor's race.

The long, expensive campaign season finally reaches its climax Tuesday as Utah polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and officials expect higher turnout than they have seen in decades.

"Based on early voting, I think we will be at least at 74 percent, and perhaps up to 80 percent" of active registered voters, or those who voted in one of the two past general elections, said Mark Thomas, state elections director for Lt. Gov. Greg Bell. ...
